There is always a lot to consider when changing residence. To make things easier, we have compiled some practical information that will be useful for your move.
Remember that it is always good to start early when you need to transfer subscriptions, for example.
Change of Address
Remember to register a change of address before you move or at the latest one week after you have moved. The easiest way to do this is to visit www.skatteverket.se to be registered at the correct address. The Tax Agency will distribute your new address to many authorities and companies, but if you want mail forwarding for other mail, you must order it from Svensk adressändring www.adressandring.se for a fee.
Note that the apartment number is part of your address. The apartment number consists of four digits that indicate which floor and where on the floor the apartment is located. You can find the apartment number in your lease agreement and in the building’s entrance.
Home Insurance
Report the move to your insurance company. If you do not already have home insurance, you need to obtain one.
Household Electricity
Hyresbostäder uses Falbygdens Energi Nät AB as the grid operator. It is important that you submit a subscriber registration for electricity to your residence well in advance before you move in. You can do this at falbygdensenergi.se/flyttanmalan-inflyttning or by phone at 0515-77 75 00. If your subscriber registration for electricity is not received in time before the lease agreement takes effect, an administrative fee for re-billing of 300 SEK per invoice will be charged.
You can choose which electricity provider you would like for your electricity consumption. If you do not make an active choice, Göteborgs Energi will become your electricity supplier. However, it is important that you make your own choice; otherwise you will be given what is known as an assigned contract, which is usually a more expensive option.
IMD – Individual Metering
In some of our properties we have Individual Metering, this is stated in your contract.
This means that you as a tenant can influence your costs for water and electricity consumption, and pay only for what you consume.
Keys to the Apartment
Keys are collected at Hyresbostäder main office, Dotorpsgatan 53 Falköping when it is time for move-in.
If you are interested, you need to register in our housing queue and meet the criteria in our rental policy.
