All our areas have food waste cabinets where you dispose of the brown bags.
You can find new brown bags in the recycling room or in the basement.
In Falköping Municipality, food waste is used to produce biogas (an environmentally friendly fuel). The remainder becomes fertilizer. For this to work, we must sort correctly.
This can become biogas
- Fruit and vegetable peels
- Bread
- Meat and fish
- Dairy products (e.g., cheese, yogurt)
- Coffee and tea filters
- Paper towels and napkins
This cannot become biogas
- Meat bones
- Large pits (e.g., avocado and peach)
- Cigarette butts and snus
- Gravel, soil, and sand
- Diapers
- Plastic
A good way to help the environment is to sort your packaging
Many areas have a recycling room. There you can dispose of:
- Glass
- Plastic
- Metal
- Newspapers
- Cardboard
Tip: Fold your cardboard boxes to save space and avoid unnecessary transport.
If you don’t have a recycling room where you live, take your packaging to a recycling station.
